KEEGO HARBOR, Mich. - March 16, 2019 -- Product-driven Summit Technology Group announces the release of their next generation SideCAR series browser-based logger. Complete with speech-to-text transcription and sentiment analysis, the player improves upon their existing design and enables users to more quickly find, edit, and export the content that is most valuable to their listeners. These innovative new features will be on display in the ENCO booth (N2524) at the 2019 NAB Show in Las Vegas.
Summit Technology Group designed SideCAR with a station's engineering and management teams in mind to provide a means of regulatory compliance logging. In response to consumer demand, the firm rolled out transcription, sentiment analysis, and other key features earlier this year. The solution now satisfies the need of engineers and creative roles alike.
"Our clients were telling us that SideCAR vastly improved their production workflow," said Paul Stewart, President of Summit Technology Group. "Reporters and producers were using the product to create best-of-show airchecks, podcasts, or simply upload a select piece of audio to their website."
Based upon the reliable ENCO enCaption engine, SideCAR is able to deliver transcripts of user-defined events in near real-time and with unrivaled accuracy. Users can search for and selectively export the audio that corresponds to the portion of the transcript desired. "The selective export function needed to be accurate and easy for the user," said Stewart, "we designed a method as familiar to use as Notepad yet powerful enough to eliminate the need for traditional audio editing."
This simple 'click and drag' functionality affords a new level of flexibility to those who edit audio and reduce the need for specialized editing software. Those at Summit who have worked on the development of this new functionality hope it will enable reporters and producers to export the content they want to share quickly and from anywhere in the world.
Other changes to the SideCAR radio logger solution include the introduction of cloud-based licensing, integration with additional AoIP equipment manufacturers, and minor user-experience related improvements. The cloud-based licensing capability sets the stage for the flexibility of pricing models to better serve Summit Technology Group's clients.
