Inovonics Incorporates PostMaster™ into the Model 732 Encoder

Robin Haynes

Keego Harbor, Mich., August 6, 2024 - Summit Technology Group and Inovonics, Inc. have announced the latest innovation in Program Associated Data (PAD) delivery with the integration of PostMaster™ Cloud Connect in the Inovonics Model 732 Advanced Dynamic RDS Encoder. The latest firmware revision of the Model 732 now includes the ability to connect to a PostMaster channel and monitor for dynamic metadata.

The integration with PostMaster affords users an easy and cyber-secure means of getting PAD Data to the Model 732 RDS Encoder without the need for a static IP address or complex configuration of firewall rules.

“Cybersecurity and RDS metadata seem to be the talk of the town these days.” Says Paul Stewart, President of Summit Technology Group. “Broadcasters will be thrilled to know they can implement this intuitive and secure platform and do so in under a minute.”

PostMaster operates in a server-based, push-pull architecture to ensure no unsolicited data is received by the Advanced Dynamic RDS Encoder. All data is pushed with an authentication header including a complex username and password combination. To connect the Model 732 to PostMaster, all the user must do is enter their username and password in the PostMaster section of the ‘Data Ports’ menu. Within seconds, data is flowing and being encoded according to the RadioText and DPS settings or defaults.

“Inovonics is always looking for ways to improve our products and incorporating PostMaster into the 732 RDS encoder is a win-win for everyone”, said Ben Barber – President & CEO of Inovonics, Inc.

The 732 Advanced Dynamic RDS Encoder takes RDS to a new level, adding greater functionality and incorporating the latest RDS technology. The 732 provides all the tools broadcasters need to ensure an engaging and dynamic RDS presence including enhanced RT+ tagging with variable replacement capability.
